Place the chair horizontally on a work surface. Remove the wheeled base on the chair by loosening the clips to attach the wheel base to the column over the chair. Some office chair bases are clasped by metal screws and nuts instead of clips. In this case, use a wrench to loosen and remove the nuts. Loosen the screws y hand.
